In Transcarpathia, in the village of Dolgoe, not far from Irshava, a local resident and a seven-year-old child died in a traffic accident, three more people were hospitalized with multiple injuries.

This is reported by the regional police in facebook, reports Ukrinform.

Police say the crash happened late last night.

“… It is preliminary known that the driver of the VAZ car, a 40-year-old local resident, suddenly drove off the side of the road onto the carriageway, where there was a collision with another car – KIA Sportage. As a result of his injuries, the 40-year-old driver, as well as one of his passengers, a 7-year-old boy, died at the scene,” police said.

According to them, there were three more passengers in the car – guys aged 15 and 18, residents of the villages of Dolgoe and Sobatin. They were hospitalized with numerous injuries in the Irshava city hospital.

The driver of KIA Sportage, a resident of the village of Dolgoye, did not receive serious bodily injuries. According to the result of the medical examination, he was sober, according to the police.

On the fact of an accident, criminal proceedings were initiated under Part 2 of Art. 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Violation of traffic safety rules or transport operation by persons driving vehicles).

A number of expert investigations will be assigned to the case. The investigation is ongoing.
