Russian media spread disinformation that in the Kharkiv region, foreign mercenaries opened fire on local residents who did not want to give up their homes.

According to Ukrinform, the Center for Counteracting Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine reports this in Telegram.

“The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation said: “In the Kharkiv region, foreign mercenaries opened fire on local residents who did not want to give up their homes, as a result of the conflict, 9 civilians were injured.” At the same time, Russian propagandist experts noted that “people are tired of hostilities, therefore excesses with shooting when deploying troops in residential buildings cannot be avoided,” this is misinformation, the CPD warns.

The CPD also warns that there is fake news from propaganda media of the Russian Federation, which they circulated with reference to the militants of illegal armed groups operating on the territory of the Donetsk region: “about the inhuman treatment of the “Right Sector” towards the prisoners, since the militants crippled all the Russian military who were captured.”

Manipulation is what the JRC calls a statement from a representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Igor Vishnevetsky, that “the shelling of nuclear facilities by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Ukraine can lead to a catastrophe similar to Chernobyl, and now a rather dangerous situation is developing.”

As Ukrinform reported, tonight, August 6, the Russian army again fired missiles at Kharkiv from the territory of Russia, the city of Belgorod. Civil infrastructure facilities were damaged in the city.
