The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia declared 14 Bulgarian diplomats persona non grata, in connection with which the Bulgarian Ambassador to the Russian Federation, Atanas Krystin, was presented with a note.

It is reported by Ukrinform with reference to Telegram channel Russian Foreign Ministry.

The Foreign Ministry said that this was a response to the decision of the Bulgarian side to expel 70 employees of Russian foreign missions from the country, introduce quotas for the number of diplomatic and administrative and technical personnel of the Russian Federation in Bulgaria, and also temporarily close the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in the city of Ruse.
