Russian troops continue shelling the border areas of the Sumy and Chernihiv regions, as a result of which civilians suffer.
According to Ukrinform, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine reports this in Telegram.
“2 communities of the Sumy region and 1 community of the Chernihiv region were under enemy fire,” the report says.
The enemy inflicted fire damage using self-propelled artillery mounts and mortars. More than 110 explosions from cannon artillery were recorded, more than 50 mines were fired from 120-mm mortars.
The enemy opened fire from the Russian settlements of Lomakovka, Kurkovichi, Volfino.
A local resident was wounded, civilian infrastructure was damaged. Another person, hiding from shelling, died of a heart attack.
As Ukrinform reported, according to the summary information of the military-civilian administrations on the situation in the regions of Ukraine as of 8:00 on August 6, mortar shelling of the Belopolskaya community continued in the Sumy region in the morning.
