The presentation of the new Gauleiter took place on Thursday, August 4, in the village house of culture. Before that, it was cordoned off by armed Russian soldiers with dogs, they carefully checked all the participants in the meeting.

During the introduction of Zbarovsky, the invaders and their Kherson collaborators stated that “from now on there will be no territorial communities in the region, so they are returning to the old administrative-territorial structure.” Consequently, they are restoring the Nizhneserogozsky district, which was liquidated in 2020 and included in the Genichesk district.

Residents of Nizhniye Serogoz also said that on August 4, the Russian military broke into the service apartment where the head of the local community, Dmitry Takadzhi, lived. Most likely, a new Gauleiter will settle there. The occupiers broke into the premises of the settlement Center for the provision of administrative services – they plan to place the occupational “district” administration in it.

Center for Investigative Journalism contacted Petr Zbarovsky by phone and asked him to comment on the information about his new “appointment”. However, the collaborator declined to comment.

Petr Zbarovsky in 2020 was elected head of the Novotroitsk territorial community from the pro-Russian party Opposition Platform – For Life. Prior to that, he worked in senior positions at Windcraft Ukraine LLC, owned by the famous Swedish businessman Karl Olof Richard Sturen. Previously, Zbarovsky headed the Novotroitsky District Council, to which he was elected from the “Social Democratic Party of Ukraine (United)”. And in 2006 and 2014, he was unsuccessfully nominated to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine from the opposition bloc “Not so!” and the party of Sergei Tigipko “Strong Ukraine”.

In early May, Petr Zbarovsky in an interview with a local newspaper “Labor Glory” stated that he “is going to work exclusively within the framework of Ukrainian legislation.”

“As for cooperation, my position is firm: as long as I can fulfill my powers within the framework of Ukrainian legislation, I will remain in office. And not otherwise,” he said.

July 2 Association of Cities of Ukraine reported that Petr Zbarovsky, along with five chairmen of other communities of Kherson, was in captivity of Russian invaders.

As you know, the head of the Nizhneserogozsk territorial community Dmitry Takaji On March 23, the Russian military detained. After that, he announced his resignation and left Kherson. Takaji later said that he and his family left through the Crimea, Russia, Georgia and Turkey to one of the European countries where he now lives.

As CJR reported, recently the list of collaborators from Kherson was replenished by the chief state sanitary doctor of the region, director general of the state institution “Kherson Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine”, Honored Doctor of Ukraine, honorary citizen of Kherson Romaskevich Yury Alekseevich. On July 30, he took part in the propaganda forum “We are together with Russia”, which was held by the occupiers in Kherson.
