Ukraine is interested in cooperation with Japan in the implementation of the project to restore the consequences of Russian aggression and offers Japanese partners to take patronage over a certain region.

This was stated by Deputy Head of the Office of the President Kyrylo Tymoshenko during a videoconference with Ambassador of Japan to Ukraine Kuninori Matsuda, Ukrinform reports with reference to OP press service.

We are interested in cooperation with your country as a major partner of Ukraine. Japan can take (under patronage – ed.) a certain region, and in this region you will be able to attract the capabilities of your organizations, provinces of Japan, your private companies to restore the infrastructure,” Tymoshenko said.

He told the diplomat about the algorithm for implementing the regional plan for rapid recovery on the example of the Sumy region.

The deputy head of the Presidential Office emphasized that Ukrainians who return to their homeland need not only full-fledged housing, but also the necessary infrastructure – schools, kindergartens, medical institutions.

For his part, Kuninori Matsuda noted that Japan can join in the restoration of the destroyed infrastructure at the level of the government and individual ministries.

The Ambassador emphasized the importance of the work of Japanese public organizations capable of providing humanitarian assistance to the affected communities. Local authorities, according to the diplomat, are also interested in taking part in the restoration of damaged Ukrainian infrastructure.

Kuninori Matsuda added that a separate role in the restoration of Ukraine can be played by business communities that can involve Japanese companies in relevant projects.

As Ukrinform reported, earlier, the Japanese Ministry of Defense provided Ukraine with nuclear, biological and chemical protection kits (NBC), as well as drones.

August 4 The Japanese government has announced another aid package to Ukraine, including vans and drones.
