Nail 60 foreign delegations will be present today in Bogotá in the inauguration of Gustavo Petro as president of Colombia. Nine of them are headed by heads of state and government.
From this Saturday they will begin to land in Bogotá presidents, political leaders and representatives of delegations who will be present during the inaugural acts of Gustavo Petro. Among the special international guests are, King Felipe VI of Spain, Gabriel BoricPresident of Chile, William Lasso from Ecuador.
Laurentino Cortizo from Panama, Xiomara Castro of Honduras and Alberto Fernandez Argentina, also attend the change of command ceremony.
The first lady of Mexico, Beatrice Gutierrez will represent the Government of Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador. The United Kingdom, Japan and South Korea also confirmed the sending of delegations.
Representatives from a dozen international agencies and organizations will witness the investiture, including the World Bank and the United Nations.
The great absentees are the presidentsDaniel Ortega from Nicaragua and Nicholas Maduro of Venezuela, who were not invited by the outgoing government, as well as peter castle from Peru whose trip to Colombia was not authorized by the Congress of his country amid corruption investigations.
