For reasons of celebration of the summer festival, which will take place from August 5 to 15, the Bogota Mayor’s Office and the District Recreation and Sports Institute (IDRD) have arranged 66 activities cultural, artistic, recreational and sports; distributed in 22 parks of the city, so that its own and visitors can enjoy this year the face-to-face return of the festival.
The Summer Festival is the largest free festival in Latin America, which held its first edition in 1997 and takes place year after year to celebrate the birthday of the Colombian capital. During 2020 and 2021 this celebration had to be canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This year, the Mayor’s Office presented the schedule for the 25th edition through the official IDRD website. One of the most innovative and interesting activities is the possibility that citizens will have to enjoy a hot air balloon ride, where they will be able to appreciate, from the heights, a panoramic view of the city. This activity will open its doors from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on the days August 6 and 7. The place where it will take place will be Parque El Tunal, Calle 48C Sur #22D-81. Green Zone 1.
It should be noted that the IDRD reported that this activity will be subject to change depending on the weather favorability for the scheduled days. The festival will feature the presentation of different artists such as Jessi Uribe, Yeison Jiménez, Grupo Niche, Chocquibtown, among others. In addition, you can enjoy a drone show, night cycle paths and food fairs.
