The jury of the National Painting Contest of Gibraleon The awards of this LXXI edition have been awarded, which this year have gone to the following artists and works: Teresa Toscano (San Juan del Puerto, Huelva) with the work entitled “Intention One”, Udane Juaristi (Guipúzcoa) with the work entitled ” Portland st” and Berto Martínez (Granada) with the work entitled “kyiv”.
In the local section, the acquisition prize has gone to the artist Elena Lechuga with the work entitled: “friends of the sea”.
The sample It will be inaugurated next Thursday, August 11, starting at 8:30 p.m., on the first and second exhibition floors of the Centro Olontense de Arte Contemporáneo (CODAC) and will be open to the public from August 11 to 31, 2022.
During these days, the assembly work of the new exhibition of the well-known Gibraleón National Painting Contest, a cultural event with which the patron saint festivities in honor of San Roque in the municipality will begin.
The National Painting Contest reaches its 71st edition with works of art from different parts of the Spanish geography: Guipúzcoa, Madrid, Valencia, Barcelona, among other cities.
For this occasion, the event has had an exceptional jury made up of professionals from the world of Huelva culture such as: Carlos Dovao Hidalgo, Ldo. in Fine Arts from the University of Seville, Plastic artist and teacher, Sergio García Rossi, Cultural Manager, Ldo. in History, Master in Cultural Management and Provincial Coordinator of the GECA Association and Rocío Calvo Lázaro, Doctorate in Fine Arts from the University of Seville. Restorer, Exhibition Curator and Cultural Manager. All of them accompanied by the Mayor of Gibraleón, Lourdes Martín Palanco and the Councilor for Culture, Elena Rodríguez Barbosa.
9,500 euros for the contest
The Olontense Consistory allocates a total of €9,500 in prizes for this National Painting Contest, €8,000 for the category of professional artists and €1,500 for the category of local artists.
