The Interpyme project –Platform for the Internationalization of SMEs in the Algarve and in the Provinces of Cádiz and Huelva–, 75% co-financed by the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), is an initiative approved in within the framework of the second call for the Interreg V Spain-Portugal European Territorial Cooperation Program 2014-2020 (POCTEP).

The provincial institution, in its commitment to business revitalization in the territory, participates as a partner in this project, whose main objective is to improve the competitiveness of small and medium-sized companies through the development and application of new business models for them, promoting competitiveness in those sectors in which the Cooperation Space presents competitive advantages.

Among the actions to be carried out in the Interpyme project, the holding of direct and inverse trade missions between SMEs in Cádiz, Huelva and the Algarve is scheduled, as well as the selection of priority markets by sector/company and the identification of specific financing to contribute to the internationalization process.

One of the main challenges faced by trade support institutions is how to advise exporting companies on market conditions and how to establish priorities when allocating their scarce resources to the promotion of sectors and markets with the greatest national potential for export. From the Interpyme project, SMEs are informed about the competitive conditions that exist in current markets.

Within the framework of activity 2 of the Interpyme project, the Huelva Provincial Council must promote the carrying out of three direct and inverse commercial missions with companies in its territory from the agro-industrial, agri-food and/or agricultural sectors, in order to create strategic alliances with different trading and importing companies, positioning the product in the European market and strengthening the image and international presence of SMEs in the province that are potentially exporters and/or wish to consolidate their foreign trade departments, opening markets abroad or using any of the instruments contemplated in the detail of eligible expenses as a tool to increase or consolidate your sales in the market in question.
